About Our church garden

Our Church Garden creates a common growing space for the Madison Church family to work together, practice stewardship, build relationships with each other, and provide a tangible expression of God’s love to our neighbors through providing fresh and healthy foods for the local community.

We raise chickens, fish and grow fresh fruits and vegetables without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers in raised garden beds and aquaponic systems, which are then distributed to the local community through our Benevolence Center and Meals-On-Wheels program.
If interested in getting involved in the Church Garden or if you have questions about our ministry, please contact Nathan Hale by phone at (615) 415-9759 or by email at nhale@madisonchurchtn.org.

Church garden produce stand

Have you seen the garden produce stand near Roots Cafe? This is where you can pick up eggs and produce freshly harvested from the MCOC garden! The stand operates on a “pay what you can” scale. Your donations are what keep the garden growing, the chickens laying eggs, and the fish well fed. Thank you for your support! The goal is for the garden to be a self-supporting ministry, and your purchases help make that a reality.

What happens to the product that doesn’t get sold? It goes out to the community through the Benevolence Center, supplements meals for the 412 students on Wednesday evening, and more.

We are called to sow seed in EVERY season. (see Ecclesiastes 11:6)

Those who sow much, reap much. Get involved with our community garden and watch God bless our harvest with much fruit!

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.” (Luke 10:2)
